Be aware of in-office made ceramic crowns!

This 65 years-young male from the TIME 100 Most Influential People in the World list visited us complaining of chipping and fracturing front teeth, and pain in the back tooth on the left side that had recently received a CAD-CAM in-office ceramic crown.
Etiology: The poorly made crown was putting excessive load on the tooth and forcing the law to shift to the right and forward.
Treatment: Replaced the bulky crown in the back and unaesthetic crown in front with all ceramic crowns and three porcelain veneers next to crown in the front. The appearance of other natural teeth improved by simple professional in-office teeth whitening.  The treatment helped jaw to reposition itself in its normal position.

Case 2

Previous implant treatment failed twice; devastated patient!

This 66 years-young female had an implant placed in the lower jaw by a careless dentist which then needed to be removed; the first time it was placed too close to the nerve, the second-time it was set too deep, which caused lingual cortical bone perforation. This can be life-threatening, requiring emergency treatment on an in-hospital basis. The patient was referred to us by another patient, and after proper diagnosis and planning utilizing Advanced Guided Surgery, the successful outcome was achieved and the patient’s trust and confidence were restored. The patient requested to have better healthier oral health and smile.
Subsequent treatments included: Invisalign, correcting the bite with ceramic restorations and four very thin ceramic veneers on front teeth, as well as simple professional in-office teeth whitening.

Case 3

Accumulation of many years of small fillings.

This 63 years-young female needed to restore her smile and youth. Her periodontal (gum) health was established first, then all existing deteriorating dental fillings and old crowns were replaced. Multiple root canals were completed to control the infections, and missing teeth were replaced with dental implants. Six front teeth received ceramic (porcelain) veneers.

This 24 years-young female was dealing with the devastating condition called generalized aggressive periodontitis. This is typically first observed in individuals around puberty, between the ages of 11 and 13 , and affected 85% of all teeth in her upper jaw. Bone needed to be taken from both hips, and grafted into the upper jaw. Multiple dental implants were placed, and her oral health, function, and smile were restored with ceramic crowns. Lower teeth were treated orthodontically to manage the perfect bite.

This 46 years young male was unaware and undiagnosed of a postural problem, having only noticed the chipping of his front teeth.
Immediately after the proper diagnosis by our team, a series of the well-thought-out plans were set and executed. The poor head-neck posture was managed by a board-certified physical therapist which consequently reduced muscle strain and nerve damage in the neck area. After initial physical therapy treatment, and the application of Botox and dental implants, ceramic crowns were customized to improve function and enhance the smile.

After being diagnosed with a fractured tooth and given a hopeless prognosis by three other specialists, this 24 years-young male was referred to Dr. Ameli for implant treatment. After routine in-depth and careful interdisciplinary study, it was concluded the prognosis of implant treatment would be least favorable, and give a less beautiful result due to inadequate biological tissue and smile line.
